The Rock ‘N Roll Triple Play Ballpark Tour...
Did you know the Ripken Stadium has more than just baseball? This concert is coming to Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen. It will feature the Counting Crows, LIVE, and Collective Soul. It's too close to home to not go... the concert is Tuesday, August 14th.

Virgin Fest is this weekend...
Do you have your tickets yet? Virgin Fest is two days of bands and music with two stages, a dance tent, food, art, fire eaters (yes, there will be fire eaters) and more.
On Saturday, August 4th, you can see Amy Winehouse, Incubus, the Beastie Boys, Modest Mouse, and the Police.
On Sunday, August 5th, you can see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Matisyahu, Panic at the Disco, Velvet Revolver, and the Smashing Pumpkins.
Can't make it? You can check out some of the music at your local library. I can't make to the festival, if I did I would like to see the Beastie Boys. Who would you want to see?

Another director has passed...
Italian film director, Michelangelo Antonioni, passed away yesterday evening at age of 94. Antonioni directed two English-language films, one of which starred Jack Nicholson.

Ingmar Bergman has died...
Swedish film director, Ingmar Bergman, passed away today at the age of 89. With over 50 films to his name, Bergman was one of the great directors of our time. Check out some of his more notable films.
Wild Strawberries (1959)
A distinguished professor can only come to terms with his egocentricity by traveling back in time to his youth, finding there the seeds of his failure. This film deals with the phenomena of old age where childhood memories return with increasing clarity while stretches of the prime of life vanish into obscurity.
The Seventh Seal (1956)
In medieval Sweden a knight returns from war only to find a ravaged homeland. He meets up with and confronts Death with whom he engages in a game of chess for his life.
Saraband (2005)
This is Bergman's last film. A married couple lose touch after their divorce. Years later Marianne looks up Johan and tries to get him out of isolation. Upon her arrival to his home, they spend several intense weeks together.

Artscape 2007
Artscape is this weekend in Baltimore!! It starts today (July 20th) at noon and runs through Sunday evening (July 22nd). It is free and open to the public. Artscape is 26 years old! Go and enjoy four stages of live concerts, art and crafts, performing arts, food and more.

It's Friday, July 13th... we don't have the movie, but you can check out other scary movies instead. Try some of these... A Nightmare On Elm Street, Scream, Freddy vs. Jason, Night of the Living Dead. What is your favorite scary movie? I like the original Amityville Horror.

Have you got the do-re-mi?
Smithsonian Folkways, in collaboration with the Museum of American Finance, has released a CD of folk and blues songs about money and the lack of it, called If You Ain't Got the Do-Re-Mi: Songs from Rags to Riches. Selections include songs by Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Josh White, and Joe Glazer, among others. Many of the songs date from the Depression Era, but their relevance rings true today, for any of us feeling the financial pinch of debt. Funny and poignant, these songs might make you laugh or cry or just check your wallet to see if you do have that do-re-mi.
