Do you like stories?

Everyone loves a good story and the library offers an array of storytimes for all ages. Have fun with Dora the Explorer and Blue's Clues or wiggle your toes while listening to stories of the sea and sand. Bring your baby to a Babies Love Books program of rhymes, fingertickles, music and simple stories followed by a playgroup. Book Browsing is Just the Beginning

Jarrettsville Grand Opening Celebration

The official Grand Opening of the Jarrettsville Branch will be held on Wednesday, May 24 at 8:30 am. The branch is located at 3722 Norrisville Road. Come join the fun! The event will begin with musical selections performed by the Jarrettsville Elementary School Band, followed by remarks from library and elected officials. Also enjoy refreshments and tours of the branch. The new state-of-the-art Jarrettsville Branch is the eleventh branch in the library system.

Download an Audio Book
That's right, we've got two services offering online audio books for your download. One is called NetLibrary. Just set up an account on the home screen and you can access your account anywhere. The other service is part of Maryland's Digital E-library Consortium. Using the Overdrive Console, you can access both audio and e-book titles. Try it! We also have a handy FAQ page to help you get started.

Community Directory becomes Resource Guide
The HCPL Community Directory has now combined with the Harford County Government Resource Guide. If you need contact information for a community organization or service, browse the Resource Guide. Not only can you find the latest information in this fine directory, but you can email your own community information for online inclusion.

Harford Anime Clubs Featured
Our Anime Clubs are currently featured in a popular Anime Magazine called NewType USA. Anime Clubs meet at 4 different branches are geared for teens interested in the art and story of Anime. The TeenZone Anime website gives general information about anime as well as examples of local art, club meetings, a list of useful website about Anime.
