Poe Comes to the Library
The Aberdeen Branch had a special visitor this week in celebration of our Summer Reading Program: Poe, the Ravens mascot. He was a big hit with the kids and even enjoyed a few minutes reading his favorite author, Edgar Allan Poe! :-)Labels: Poe mascot hcpl harford

HCPL in the July 4th Parades
The parades of Harford County and neighboring communities are always a big hit over the 4th of July weekend. This year was no different as our student volunteers shared our Summer Reading Program theme: Catch the Reading Bug. Here are just a few images:

Summer Reading Program a Huge Success
Numbers are up! The library is enjoying a booming Summer Reading Program as children "Catch the Reading Bug!" and teenagers begin their own "Metamorphosis." Along with children reading their 10 books, there are a number of programs that are supporting our "buggy" theme, particularly, programs coming in from the National Aquarium in Baltimore, the Baltimore Science Center, and the Maryland Zoo. Check out our events calendar and look for a program at your branch.
