Sharing the Gift

Sharing the Gift, sponsored by Harford County Public Library since 1974, is a story time program staffed by volunteers who have been trained by children’s services staff with materials supplied by the library’s Learning and Sharing Center. The theme based programs, prepared by the LSC librarian, may include age appropriate books, fingerplays, puppets and filmstrips for children from two to six years of age and are presented at licensed day care centers and nursery schools.
Volunteer Today!
Are you eager to share your love of books and reading to children?
Can you volunteer a minimum of half a day each month from October to April for visits? (More time should be set aside for practice and travel.)
If you answer “Yes!” to these questions, please call the Sharing the Gift librarian at the Be1 Air Branch (410-638-3151 x2244) or the Volunteer Specialist at HCPL Administration (410-273-5600 x2247). New volunteers will be trained each September for the coming academic year. This document is available in an alternative format upon request.
