About the Exhibit
A collection of 40 framed vintage posters bequeathed to the San Antonio Public Library will be on display at Harford County Public Library.
These unique lithographs feature famous images of patriotic themes and messages and provide a fascinating window into the era, and the beginnings of the American effort in support of “the war to end all wars.”

Commemorative Items for Sale
The Winds and Words of War Exhibit Catalog is for sale at the Bel Air and Jarrettsville Branches for $20. Proceeds benefit the Library.
A Winds and Words of War Commemorative Poster is also available for $5 at the Bel Air, Jarrettsville, and Havre de Grace Branches. The poster features 20 images from the exhibit. You will surely find your favorite!

Film Series and Book Discussion Groups
HCPL is also hosting a related film series and book discussion groups.

The film series, held at the Havre de Grace branch, features guest moderators, Jack and Jan Hirschfeld (producer/directors), who will lead pre and post-screening discussions of six films that capture different points of view during the World War I era. Two showings of each film. Tickets are free but seating is limited. Recommended for High School & Adults. Registration required.

Teacher’s Resource Guide: Winds and Words of War Spring 2010 (pdf)
The main purpose of this resource guide packet is to help provide additional materials to classrooms studying the period of World War I in the United States. This information will serve as a bridge between the exhibition and the classroom. It will also assist in integrating these areas into your teaching format.
