“Best Consideration Date” means applications will continue to be accepted after the best consideration date. However, preferential consideration is given to those applications completed by the best consideration date given on the vacancy announcement. All hourly and salaried employees who are expected to work 500 hours or more per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) are required to enroll in the Pension System of the State of Maryland. Enrollment requires a mandatory contribution as set by the pension system.
All non-supervisory new hires are on probation for a period of ninety days.
All new administrators, managers, or supervisors are on probation for a period of one year.
All employees are hired to work for the library system and may be required to work anywhere within the system.
Hours of work will vary according to the needs of the library with a combination of day, evening, and weekend hours.
