Rosetta Stone is committed to maintaining the security of our clients. With that in mind, on January 15, 2017 we will be updating Rosetta Stone systems to comply with Apple's latest security guidelines. The update will ensure that 100% of our content and data, not just sensitive data, is passed over secure connections in the future.
What does this mean for you?
Clients who are using Apple mobile devices with iOS 8 or below need to update to at least iOS 9 and then upgrade to the latest version of the Learn Languages with Rosetta Stone app. Once 100% of the content and data are passed over secure connections, version 2.x of our Learn Languages app will no longer function properly.
The few remaining clients who have updated to at least iOS 9 and are still using version 2.x of our Learn Languages app need to upgrade to the latest version of the Learn Languages with Rosetta Stone app. Clients who are using version 3.x of the app do not need to take any action at this time. If you have updated Learn Languages with Rosetta Stone since May 2016, you are using a version that will be supported when the update occurs.
Additionally, clients who utilize network caching of Rosetta Stone content files to minimize bandwidth consumption will no longer be able to use this method once all content is passed securely.
