About the Friends of Harford County Public Library

Friends of Harford County Public Library are non-profit volunteer citizen groups that share a concern for the library’s active expansion and participation in community life. HCPL currently has 10 Friends Groups, each supporting an individual library branch.

Becoming a Friend is easy—just click, fill out the interest form, and someone will contact you with additional details! Your library needs you, and together, we can ensure the Library continues to be a FREE, WELCOMING community hub for generations to come!

Donations for Book Sales

  • The Friends welcome donations of gently used books for their book sales. Please contact your local branch for information about how to donate.
  • The Friends will accept books and media in good condition for resale. They are unable to accept items that are dirty, water-damaged, or have mold.
  • The Friends will not accept textbooks, encyclopedias, or media types that the library does not currently circulate (ex. Videocassettes, audiocassettes).
  • The Friends of Harford County Public Library will be happy to provide a receipt for your donation.
