Creating Your Own Early Literacy/STEM Kits

We have received many questions about Little Leapers kits that ask how libraries and other organizations might develop their own versions of early literacy/STEM kits. Harford County Public Library's Little Leapers Kits were developed by library staff with backgrounds in early childhood education, child development, and science education. We used the five literacy practices (talking, singing, reading, playing and talking) from ALA's Every Child Ready to Read 2nd edition, as a foundation when creating the activities within the kits.
